Job summary

Boulder County Human Services Department seeks a Long-Term Care Eligibility Technician to determine benefits for Health First Colorado (Medicaid) and SNAP. This full-time, non-exempt role supports the community from 515 Coffman St., Longmont, CO, Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm.

You will collect information, verify eligibility, explain program requirements, and determine approvals or denials while maintaining data accuracy in county systems.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Two years of experience working with the public.
• Additional related education may count toward required experience.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and reviews financial and other pertinent information from applicants and clients to determine eligibility for public assistance and Medicaid.
• Verifies information given by applicants by direct contact, phone contact, and/or home visits.
• Informs applicants and recipients of program requirements and benefits for which they may be eligible.
• Interprets appeal rights and procedures to clients.
• Assists applicants in completing forms and securing documents and other verification.
• Keeps recipients informed of changes in laws and regulations affecting ongoing eligibility.
• Determines approval or denial within required timeframes.
• Enters data into computer systems and uses appropriate systems to verify data.
• Identifies need for recovery of funds or referrals for fraud investigation.
