Job summary

Clermont County is seeking a Public Assistance Caseworker (Income Maintenance Worker 3) to join the Department of Job and Family Services, Division of Public Assistance. This full-time classified position offers a comprehensive benefits package and a starting minimum salary of $20.82 per hour.

Primary duties include determining eligibility, managing a large volume of inquiries, conducting interviews, and maintaining case records across multiple systems.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a unit support worker in program areas administered through Department of Job and Family Services.
• Undergraduate major core coursework in behavioral science, social science, or education with related interviewing and typing experience.
• Two years of technical education in behavioral or social science with related interviewing and typing experience.
• Two years courses in behavioral/social science or customer service with related business math/English/interviewing/typing experience.
• Equivalent education, training, or experience to the minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Determine initial and ongoing public assistance program eligibility.
• Handle a large volume of inquiries by phone, fax, email, mail, and in person.
• Conduct interactive interviews with applicants and authorized representatives.
• Manage caseloads and caseload banking for assigned cases.
• Use computer systems and software for interviewing, approving, and updating cases.
