Licking County Job & Family Services (LCJFS) provides the community with public assistance, workforce development, and protective services. We are seeking talented, compassionate individuals to assist in the provision of public assistance benefits to families and individuals in need.

Public Assistance Caseworkers will explain programs and determine initial and ongoing eligibility for public assistance programs such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Ohio Works First (OWF), Medicaid, SNAP/Food Assistance, etc. based on established State and Agency regulations and procedures. This includes conducting interactive interviews via phone and face-to-face. Caseworkers will utilize and enter data into specialized State software and associated computer systems. Caseworkers will process forms, prepare and issue notifications, and obtain documentation from potential recipients such as income information, family size, resources, residence data, etc. Caseworkers will compute applicant budgets and explain applicant rights and responsibilities. As applicable, caseworkers will refer applicants to other Agency or community resources. Performs other duties as assigned.

Successful Public Assistance Caseworkers will possess an associate degree in a relevant area such as human services, business, accounting, or other related area and one (1) year experience working with the public. Caseworkers must have competency in the use of computers. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

Pay Range: $20.32 – $27.60 per hour (placement in pay range is dependent on experience and education)
