The Arts and Culture Division in the Department of Public Works has an exciting opportunity for a temporary, non-benefited, part-time Public Art Technician! The ideal candidate will have a passion for arts, culture, and community initiatives.
This is a temporary, non-benefited, part-time position up to 17.5 hours per week (not to exceed 233 hours per quarter and 1039 hours in the FY). There are no benefits offered with this position.
The Public Art Technician will work alongside and support the Arts & Culture Team. Typical responsibilities include:
Two (2) years of experience in art handling and/or paid office or program support.
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by college level coursework in art, art history, art conservation, and/or gallery practices
Work is performed in a standard indoor and outdoor environment. May be required to work on evenings or weekends.
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; lift objects up to 50 pounds; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
