Job summary

The City of Reno's Arts and Culture Division seeks a temporary, non-benefited, part-time Public Art Technician to join the Arts & Culture Team. The role involves maintaining the public art collection, assisting with gallery exhibitions, and supporting citywide arts programs.

Two years of art handling or program support experience are preferred. The position requires flexibility to work evenings or weekends, and proficiency with MS Office, Canva, and basic graphic software.

Qualifications

• Two years of art handling or paid office/program support experience.
• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade with college coursework in art-related fields.
• Ability to work evenings or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain the public art collection, including hanging and moving artwork, graffiti removal, and preparing signal boxes.
• Assist in procedures, standards, and planning for City collection.
• Assist with gallery exhibitions (calendar, labels, install/deinstall, artist contracts, deliveries, promotions).
• Help maintain public art database and coordinate professional development workshops.
• Greet customers and provide program information; collaborate on projects as needed.
