Qualifications

• Assists in organizing public programs to educate the community about art conservation and preservation efforts.
• Uses computer software to maintain databases and generate reports related to the condition and treatments of artworks.

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Art Conservation, Fine Arts, Material Science, or a related field. Professional level experience in art conservation or restoration may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to two (2) years. Working Conditions: Attend meetings or public art functions outside of normal working hours. May work outdoors in hazardous conditions. • Works collaboratively as part of a team to enhance the visibility and efficacy of public art initiatives and conservation activities.
• Uses computer software to maintain databases and generate reports related to the condition and treatments of artworks.
• May drive a personal or County motor vehicle in the course of the work.

Physical Demands

Mobility to work in various outdoor and public settings, ability to lift and maneuver artworks weighing up to 50 pounds, vision to read printed materials, capability to assess conditions visually, and effective communication abilities for interacting with the public and stakeholders.
