Job summary

Lozano Smith, a leading California public agency law firm, seeks an experienced Litigation Attorney for our Litigation Practice Group. You will handle complex civil matters for public agencies and school districts from inception through appeal, including trials, hearings, and strategic advisory work.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in litigation, a California Bar license, strong research and writing skills, and a collaborative, detail-oriented approach to complex education and public agency law

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of California and in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, with a focus on public agency and school district matters.
• Proven trial experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of California public agency and employment/education laws.

Responsibilities

• Representing public entities in state and federal court in administrative hearings.
• Provide legal advice on matters related to public agency law, and education law.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and prepare legal documents.
• Collaborate with clients and provide strategic guidance on legal issues.
• Stay current on legal developments and provide training to clients.
