Job summary

Lozano Smith's Monterey office seeks an experienced Litigation Attorney to join the Litigation Practice Group. The attorney will represent public agencies and school districts in diverse litigation matters, handling cases from inception to resolution, including hearings, arbitrations, trials and appeals.

The ideal candidate has a J.D. from an accredited law school, California Bar admission, and proven trial experience, with strong research, writing, and analytical abilities to navigate

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of California and in good standing.
• Proven trial experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of California public agency and employment/education laws.

Responsibilities

• Representing public entities in state and federal court.
• Representing public entities in arbitration and administrative hearings.
• Provide legal advice on matters related to public agency law, and education law.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and prepare legal documents.
• Collaborate with clients and provide strategic guidance on legal issues.
• Stay current on legal developments and provide training to clients.
