• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record showing no violations within the last year.
• Fleet-certified driver or ability to become certified for Lyons Lift operations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with variable call volume around class times and weather.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a pleasant, friendly demeanor.
• Ability to communicate effectively with riders and supervisors during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe transportation of individuals on route.
• Assist individuals entering and exiting the vehicle as needed.
• Provide curb-to-curb service in a professional, safe, and courteous manner.
• Conduct and document vehicle safety checks before each shift.
• Manage scheduling with passengers during shifts.
• Report and record all incidents to Public Safety Dispatch and document for the Lyons Lift Supervisor.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Keep vehicle clean and free of trash.
• Record daily ridership records.
• Communicate with the direct supervisor any issues or concerns.

Lyons Lift Drivers operate our wheelchair accessible van to support individuals with permanent or temporary mobility limitations with rides on campus, ensuring them safe and friendly access to classes, dining, and other campus locations, as well as the Village Commons.
