Job summary

Aston Group in Florida is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing facility team. Full-time with PRN coverage options, responsibilities include assisting PTs, guiding residents through rehab exercises, and promoting mobility.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team to implement therapy plans, document outcomes, and educate families. Prior PTA experience is welcome but not required; we value empathy, reliability, and a commitment to quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Currently licensed or certified as a PTA in Florida.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with elderly residents.
• Ability to collaborate with Physical Therapists, nursing staff, and care teams.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to rehab.
• Basic understanding of rehabilitation principles and SNF regulations (preferred).
• Ability to safely lift, assist, and transfer residents during therapy.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care under supervision of a licensed PT.
• Assist residents with mobility, gait, transfers, and strengthening.
• Implement individualized therapy plans based on resident needs.
• Monitor progress and document outcomes accurately and timely.
• Educate residents and families about home exercise programs.
• Maintain a safe, clean therapy environment and proper equipment use.
• Collaborate with nursing and therapy teams to support care plans.
• Encourage participation and independence in daily activities.
