Job summary

Aston Group is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a PRN position in a skilled nursing facility in Florida. You will support residents under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, helping with mobility training, transfers, and therapeutic exercises.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration with nursing and therapy teams, and accurate documentation of outcomes. Prior PTA experience is a plus, but compassionate newcomers are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited PTA program
• Current PTA license or Florida certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with elderly or rehabilitating residents
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
• Basic understanding of SNF regulatory guidelines (preferred)
• Ability to lift, support, and assist residents safely during mobility and therapeutic activities

Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Assist residents with mobility training, gait training, transfers, and strengthening exercises
• Implement individualized therapy treatment plans according to resident needs
• Monitor resident progress and document outcomes accurately and timely
• Provide education and support to residents and families regarding therapeutic activities and home exercise programs
• Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment, ensuring equipment is used appropriately
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapy teams, and interdisciplinary teams to support overall care plans
• Encourage resident participation and promote independence in daily functional activities
