Job summary

Safire Rehab of Southtowns in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a PRN opportunity. You will provide therapy under a licensed PT, focusing on mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence, within a collaborative rehab setting.

The role offers flexible PRN scheduling, a supportive team, and a diverse resident population with opportunities to build experience in short- and long-term care. Prior rehab experience is helpful, and new grads are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Active New York PTA license required.
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Skilled nursing or rehabilitation experience preferred but not required.
• New graduate PTAs are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist residents with strengthening, balance, gait training, transfers, endurance, and mobility.
• Carry out individualized treatment plans established by the supervising PT.
• Monitor resident progress and communicate changes to the therapy team.
• Educate residents and caregivers on exercises and safe mobility techniques.
• Complete accurate and timely treatment documentation.
• Collaborate with rehabilitation staff and the interdisciplinary care team.
