Job summary

SEARHC in Southeast Alaska is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to support the Rehabilitation Services Department. The PTA will implement selected components of PT interventions under supervision, document progress, and contribute to patient education and home exercise programs.

The role supports both in-patient and outpatient populations, may involve travel to remote locations, and requires collaboration with nurses, therapists, and referring providers to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Role requires PTA duties under a PT plan of care.
• Experience collaborating with rehabilitation team is implied.
• Ability to provide patient education and home exercise programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapy treatments from a PT plan of care focusing on PTA goals.
• Review clinical records and participate in care conferences.
• Collaborate with team to arrange equipment and discharge plans.
• Document patient encounters, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
• Deliver in-patient and out-patient PT services; lead support staff when assigned.
• Educate patients and families; provide home exercise programs.
