Job summary

Mercy is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to support the Physical Therapist in delivering therapy within Mercy Hospital. The assistant will document patient progress, adjust procedures as directed, and supervise the PT aide while coordinating the department workload.

Entry-level candidates with an Associate's degree and current BLS certification are welcome to apply. Mercy emphasizes patient comfort, safety, and dignity in all care and will support ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• Currently licensed in the state of practice or holding a state-authorized temporary permit/license, where applicable.
• Health Care Provider Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in delivering physical therapy procedures.
• Document patient progress notes and update treatment records.
• Provide technical assistance and direction to the Physical Therapy aide and coordinate workload.
• Address age-specific needs for all patients and maintain patient dignity and comfort.
• Identify and report patient safety issues promptly.
