Job summary

Mt. Vernon LHC MVI, part of the Optum family, is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver in-home physical therapy and patient education under the plan of care.

You will help patients improve well-being through therapeutic exercises, gait training, and mobility support while collaborating with supervising PT and care teams. The role requires state licensure, a valid driver's license, and weekend availability; CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• CPR certification (preferred)
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Follow all state laws governing home care physical therapy and follow the supervising PT's plan of care.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercises, gait, functional and mobility training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses; coordinate care with the healthcare team.
• Educate patient, family, and caregivers within PTA scope.
• Provide care in diverse home settings with a respectful, inclusive approach.
