Job summary

Mt. Vernon LHC MVI, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide treatment and education under a supervising PT. You will guide patients through active and passive exercises, gait and mobility training, and functional activities in home care settings.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance or access to reliable transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws and plan of care defined by supervising PT; perform only qualified procedures.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, mobility, and ADL training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses; coordinate care with the healthcare team.
• Educate patient, family, and caregivers on therapy within the scope of the PTA.
• Function effectively in diverse home settings and with all patients.
