Job summary

Stern at Home Therapy is hiring Full-Time and Part-Time Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) to provide one-on-one care to patients in their homes throughout Newark, NJ and surrounding communities.

This opportunity offers supervision by licensed Physical Therapists and a supportive team, with emphasis on individualized care and avoiding high-volume productivity expectations typical of outpatient settings.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey PTA license required.
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Reliable transportation.
• Strong clinical, communication, documentation, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a home-based setting with supervising PT.
• Home health or geriatric experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one physical therapy treatments in patients' homes.
• Carry out individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, safety, and overall function.
• Provide gait training, transfer training, therapeutic exercise, and fall-prevention interventions.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility strategies, and home safety.
• Monitor the patient's progress and communicate any changes to the supervising PT.
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Manage your daily schedule and caseload with support from our administrative team.
