Job summary

Laurel Park Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Elizabeth City, NC is hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join a growing care team. You will provide comprehensive PT services under the supervision of a licensed PT, assist with patient referrals, and document progress in the patient record.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of a PT per state guidelines.
• Assist PT in selecting appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient participation and progress with progress notes and PT co-signature.
• Ensure MD orders for treatments, recertifications and discharges.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Schedule patients and assist with billing and ethical charges for PT services.
• Supervise junior PTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, patients and families.
• Provide in-service education to rehab staff and community as needed.
