Job summary

Laurel Park Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Elizabeth City, NC seeks a Physical Therapy Assistant to assist PTs in delivering patient-centered rehab services, under supervision, and to support treatment planning and documentation.

Qualifications

• Must hold current PTA license/registration in North Carolina.
• Graduate of accredited program with BA or AS in Physical Therapy recognized by APTA.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of a PT.
• Assist PT in identifying suitable patients and referring them to rehab.
• Document patient participation and progress with timely progress notes and PT cosignature.
• Ensure MD orders for treatments, recertifications and discharges are obtained.
• Assist with additional documentation per state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as directed.
• Act as rehab delegate to interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling patients as indicated.
• Complete billing and bill patients ethically for PT services.
• Cover other therapists’ caseload during absences as needed.
• Supervise junior PTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, patients and families.
• Provide in-service education about patient care to staff and community.
• Comply with facility safety policies and confidentiality rules.
• Report to work on time and maintain professional image.
• Meet productivity requirements.
• Foster positive relations with customers and coworkers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Regional Manager.
• Adhere to facility policies on lunch, sick leave and time off.

Qualifications:

1. 1.Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Physical Therapy that is recognized by the APTA.
2. 2.Holds current license and/or registration in the state

Job Responsibilities:

1. 1.Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.

13. 13.Provide in-service education regarding patient care or physical therapy services to rehab staff, facility staff, hospitals and/or community as needed.
14. 14.Comply with all facility safety policies and procedures.
15. 15.Comply with patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights.
16. 16.Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours and project a professional image at all times.
17. 17.Adhere to productivity requirements.
18. 18.Maintain a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating and communicating in a professional manner so as to foster positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers and managers.
19. 19.Perform all other duties assigned by the department Supervisor, Lead Therapist or Regional Manager.
20. 20.Comply with all Facility policies re: lunch, sick and time off notification.
