PT - School Crossing Guard - Police Department

Job Overview

Department: Ogden City Police Department

Work Site: Must be able to respond to the job site within 10-15 minutes of notification. Proof of immediate response ability may be required.

Rate of Pay: $16.00 per hour - 1.5 hours in the morning before school and 1.5 hours in the afternoon after school ends. Needed every day school is in session.

Responsibilities

• Cross children safely while monitoring traffic
• Prepare the school crossing zone using required equipment
• Remove crossing equipment (performed twice daily)
• Travel to different locations throughout the city as needed

Qualifications

• Experience in crossing guard, traffic control, or working with children preferred but not required
• Must have a valid Utah Driver's License

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

While performing duties, employees may need to bend, stoop, crouch, walk, and stand for long periods. May occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Work is outdoors, subject to heat, cold, and wet conditions. Constant visual and auditory attention required.

Additional Information

• Must pass a criminal background check
• Must provide own transportation
• Availability: Monday through Friday, mornings and afternoons during school hours, approximately three hours per day
