Department: Ogden City Police Department

Work Site: Must be able to respond to the job site within 10-15 minutes of notification. Proof of immediate response ability may be required.

Rate of Pay: $16.00 per hour. Includes 1.5 hours in the morning before school and 1.5 hours in the afternoon after school, needed every school day.

General Purpose

Responsible individuals needed to assist children crossing the street to and from school under the supervision of the Ogden City Crossing Guard Coordinator.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare school crossing zone using required equipment.
• Cross children safely while monitoring traffic.
• Remove crossing equipment (repeated twice daily).
• Travel to different locations across the city.
• Availability Monday through Friday, mornings and afternoons during school hours, approximately three hours per day.
• Provide own transportation to job sites.
• Uphold the City's mission, values, and expectations.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• May need to bend, stoop, or crouch.
• Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
• Work involves walking and standing for long periods; requires constant visual and auditory attention.
• Performed outdoors, subject to weather conditions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of Utah traffic laws; emergency procedures are a plus.
• Valid Utah Driver's License required.
