PT - School Crossing Guard - Police Department

Position Details

Department: Ogden City Police Department

Work Site: Must be able to respond within 10-15 minutes of notification; proof of immediate response ability may be required.

Rate of Pay: $16.00 per hour, with 1.5 hours in the morning before school and 1.5 hours in the afternoon after school, needed every day school is in session.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist children crossing streets safely under supervision.
• Prepare and remove crossing zone equipment twice daily.
• Travel to various locations across the city as needed.
• Availability during school hours, Monday through Friday, approximately three hours per day.
• Provide own transportation to job sites.
• Promote and adhere to the City’s mission, values, and expectations.

Physical and Work Environment

• May need to bend, stoop, crouch, walk, and stand for long periods.
• Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions including heat, cold, and wet conditions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Utah traffic laws; emergency procedures are a plus.
• Valid Utah Driver’s License required.
