Job summary

Fox Valley Park District is seeking a part-time Facility Custodian for Vaughan Athletic Center in Aurora, IL. The role requires cleaning and maintenance of restrooms, locker rooms, and public areas during morning hours (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 5:30–9:00 am).

Ideal candidates are dependable, energetic, with good customer service and teamwork. Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs and reliable transportation; prior custodial experience is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will be dependable, energetic, self-motivated and service oriented. Must be at least 20 years of age and have a high school degree or equivalent. Must be in good physical condition to perform manual labor including lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly. Previous custodial experience preferred. Must have good customer service skills and be able to effectively communicate with staff and the public. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Effective time management skills with attention to detail is essential. Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

DUTIES

Under the direction and supervision of the Custodial Maintenance Supervisor, the Facility Custodian is responsible for providing a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our customers and members. Duties include but not limited to: general cleaning of restrooms, locker rooms, child care area, windows, floors, hallways, etc. Additional duties include laundering of fitness towels, cleaning of exercise equipment, room set-up and take down, assisting with set-up and take down of athletic equipment and/or mats, etc. Must be pleasant and perform assigned duties to the best of their ability. This is an at-will position.
