Job summary

Groovin' Gourmets, the catering division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, seeks a part-time Event Coordinator to support on-site catering for our Virginia events. You will transport items, set up and serve at events, and lead servers and bartenders under the Sales Event Coordinator's plan.

You will need 1–2 years of catering leadership, a valid driver's license, and strong communication. Expect nights and weekends with occasional shifts.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of catering or banquet leadership experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead a team in fast-paced events.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport food, drinks, and equipment to event venues.
• Manage all aspects of events including setup, service, and takedown.
• Lead a team of co-captains, servers, and bartenders.
• Coordinate with hosts and adapt service flow for different venues.
• Maintain clear communication and resolve issues proactively.
• Foster a positive environment for team development.

How You Will Make An Impact

• Safely transport of food, drinks, and equipment to the event venue.
• Manage all aspects of the event including set-up, serving meals and beverages, and take-down.
• Carry out the Sales Event Coordinator's plan for the event and adapt to different venues when setting up and organizing service flow.
• Lead a team of co-captains, servers, and bartenders.
• Maintain good communication with the event host.
• Be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise.
• Create an environment that supports and develops the members of your team.
• Be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

What You Bring To The Table

• 1-2 years of catering or banquet leadership experience
• Valid Driver's License and 3+ years of safe driving experience
• Comfortable driving a 16' box truck and able to climb in and out of vehicle
• Experience leading a team, whether in food service or other industry
• Excellent communication ability, both verbal and written
• Positive and empowering interpersonal skills
• Physical stamina to work long hours (must be able to lift 50 pounds)
