Job summary

Groovin' Gourmets, the catering division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, seeks energetic bartenders for event shifts in the Richmond area. This part-time role involves setting up the bar, mixing cocktails and beverages, and engaging with guests to ensure a flawless experience.

The job requires physical stamina to lift, stand, and move bottles and gear throughout the event. Trolley offers flexible scheduling and opportunities to grow with the company.

Qualifications

• 2+ years bartending experience in catering/banquet settings
• Able to bend, twist, lift 50 pounds, and stand long periods
• Effective verbal communication and guest service orientation

Responsibilities

• Review event worksheet and be knowledgeable about event details
• Check in with Event Captain on arrival and departure
• Unloads GG vehicle and sets up bar area and glassware
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, answer questions, suggest beverages
• Verify legal drinking age for all guests
• Process payments for drinks when there is a cash bar
• Clean up bar area and repack beverages and rentals after the event
• Assist with breakdown and ensure tidy, properly stored rentals

How You Will Make An Impact

• Review the event worksheet before arriving at the event--be knowledgeable about the event you are working, timeline, bar type, food, etc.
• Check in with the Event Captain or Co-Captain when you arrive at the event and when you leave.
• Help unload the GG vehicle and set up the bar area and all appropriate glassware.
• During the event, prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests, answer questions about drink ingredients and make suggestions for different types of beverages and cocktails.
• Verify that all guests served alcohol are of the legal drinking age.
• If the event has a cash bar, take payments for drinks (cash or credit, using the Square app).
• At the end of the event, clean up the bar area; pack all beer and wines back into the appropriate boxes.
• Assist with the general breakdown of the event; ensure no food, plates, beverages, or other debris remain behind and that rentals are neatly stacked in the appropriate location.

What You Bring To The Table

• 2+ years of bartending experience, preferably in a catering/banquet setting
• Able to follow directions and work independently
• Effective verbal communication skills
• This is a very physical position--must be able to bend, twist, lift at least 50 pounds, and stand on your feet for long periods of time
