Job summary

Groovin' Gourmets, the catering division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, is hiring an event server to help guests celebrate memorable occasions in our Norfolk-area operations. You will arrive on time, assist with setup and breakdown, and provide attentive service throughout events.

You should enjoy talking about food, have customer service experience, and be willing to work nights and weekends. We offer pay of $16 per hour plus gratuities, employee benefits, and discounts across Trolley House

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is required.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently.
• Attention to detail is essential.

Responsibilities

• Arrive to scheduled events on time and dressed in proper uniform
• Assist in all aspects of set-up and break-down, including lifting and moving up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds
• Serve guests with attention to detail and ensure they have everything they need
• Become familiar with catering menu and answer questions about food
• Maintain a courteous demeanor and high personal hygiene
• Practice safe food handling procedures
• Be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends

Event Server Expectations

• Arrive to scheduled events on time and dressed in proper uniform
• Assist in all aspects of set-up and break-down, including lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds

Event Server Experience

• Customer service experience
• Able to follow directions and work independently
• Effective verbal communication skills
• Previous banquet, catering, and/or restaurant wait staff experience preferred
