Kids Crossing Daycare in Sioux Falls seeks a Part-Time Afternoon Float Teacher to support busy classrooms after school. The role is 3:30 PM–6:00 PM, Mon-Fri, about 12.5 hours weekly, ideal for high school or college students who want consistent weekday hours.

No nights or weekends. You will work across classrooms, assist teachers with activities and routines, and help maintain a safe, fun environment for children while building childcare experience.

• Must be 16+ and reliable for after-school hours.

• Willing to work in multiple classrooms and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, nurturing care to children during after-school hours.
• Support classrooms throughout the center as needed.
• Supervise and engage children during play and activities.
• Assist with snacks, diapering/toileting, and daily routines.
• Help with end-of-day transitions and classroom cleanup.
• Greet families warmly and communicate with staff.

Part-Time Afternoon Float Teacher

Kids Crossing Daycare is looking for an energetic, dependable Part-Time Afternoon Float Teacher to join our team!

Looking for an after-school job that works around your class schedule? This position is a great fit for a high school or college student who enjoys working with kids and wants consistent weekday hours!

Our Afternoon Float Teacher works throughout the daycare, helping classrooms wherever extra support is needed as we move through the busy end of the day. You'll get the opportunity to work with children of different ages while helping our teachers with supervision, activities, daily care, and end-of-day routines.

Hours & Job Information

• Monday-Friday, 3:30 PM-6:00 PM
• Approximately 12.5 hours per week
• Perfect after-school schedule for high school or college students
• Consistent weekday hours
• No nights or weekends!
• Work with a variety of classrooms and age groups

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, nurturing, and quality care to children
• Provide additional support in classrooms throughout the center as needed
• Supervise and actively engage with children during play and activities
• Assist teachers with snacks, diapering/toileting, and other daily routines
• Help classrooms transition through afternoon pick-up and the end of the day
• Assist with classroom cleaning and organization
• Greet children and families in a warm and welcoming manner
• Communicate and work well with teachers and other staff
• Be willing to jump in and help wherever needed!
