Job description

Join to apply for the Psychologist - Remote role at Loyal Source Government Services.

The psychologist performs Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) for veterans when they file disability claims related to mental health conditions (e.g., PTSD, Depression, Anxiety) through the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) as part of the Compensation and Pension Program. These comprehensive mental health exams involve assessments and medical opinions but do not include treatment.

Key Roles

1. Conduct standard outpatient assessments and evaluations.
2. Request psychological/neuropsychological testing services.
3. Participate in peer consultations, staff meetings, and trainings; ensure determinations comply with VA guidelines; perform other duties as assigned by management.
4. Perform non-MD clinical reviews, including requests for psychological or neuropsychological testing.

Responsibilities

1. Perform comprehensive mental health examinations (MDE) for conditions such as PTSD, Depression, MST, Anxiety, Eating Disorders.
2. Write medical opinions as a subject matter expert for mental health claims.
3. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and VA policies.
4. Note: C&P mental health examinations are one-time, no-treatment assessments.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed doctoral-level (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) Psychologist with current, unrestricted license.
• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience.
• Proficiency with Windows OS, Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel.
• Dedicated secure workspace and high-speed internet access at home.
• Graduated from an APA-accredited school or doctoral program.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in performing C&P exams (training provided).
• Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).
• Additional experience with managed care, peer reviews, CPT/HCPCS coding, and clinical care in various settings.
• Strong organizational, communication, and independent work skills.
