Job description

Join to apply for the Psychologist - Remote role at Loyal Source Government Services.

The psychologist performs Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) for veterans when they file disability claims for mental health conditions (e.g., PTSD, Depression, Anxiety) through the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) as part of the Compensation and Pension Program. These comprehensive mental health exams include assessments and medical opinions but do not involve providing treatment.

Key Roles

1. Conduct standard outpatient assessments and evaluations.
2. Manage psychological/neuropsychological testing requests.
3. Participate in peer consultations, staff meetings, and training sessions; ensure documentation complies with VA guidelines; perform other duties as assigned.
4. Perform non-MD clinical reviews, including requests for psychological or neuropsychological testing.

Responsibilities

1. Perform comprehensive mental health examinations for conditions such as PTSD, depression, MST, anxiety, and eating disorders.
2. Draft medical opinions as a subject matter expert for mental health claims.
3. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and VA regulations.
4. Note: C&P mental health exams are one-time, no-treatment assessments.

Required Qualifications

1. Licensed doctoral-level (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) Psychologist with current, unrestricted license.
2. At least 2 years of post-licensure experience.
3. Proficiency with Windows OS, Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel.
4. Dedicated secure workspace with high-speed internet access.
5. Graduated from an APA-accredited doctoral program.

Preferred Requirements

1. Experience in performing C&P exams (training provided).
2. Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).
3. American Society for Professional Psychology Certification (CPQ).
4. Experience in managed care, peer reviews, and billing codes (CPT, HCPCS).
5. Clinical experience with children, adolescents, substance abuse, and evidence-based treatments.
6. Advanced computer skills, organizational skills, and ability to work independently and in team settings.

Pay: $65.53 + $4.93 H&W per hour.
