Job summary

Oakwood New Vista seeks a psychologist to join a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and co-occurring conditions.

The role covers inpatient care, assessments, therapy, behavior plans, and staff training in Positive Behavior Support. Flexible pathways include outpatient autism assessments and community consultation opportunities.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychology.
• License/certified to practice in Kentucky as required by the State Board of Psychology.
• New graduates able to obtain temporary licensure are encouraged to apply.
• Behavioral psychology expertise, IDD and ASD experience strongly preferred.
• Valid Driver’s license.
• Ability to meet criminal background and drug screening standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based psychology services to adult inpatient clients with IDD, ASD and cooccurring psychiatric conditions.
• Deliver direct treatment via individual therapy, group therapy, skills training, and behavior plan implementation.
• Conduct assessments including psychological, cognitive, ADHD, autism, dementia, and adaptive functioning.
• Model crisis risk assessment and de-escalation, and respond to crises as needed.
• Assess challenging behavior, design behavioral treatments, and monitor progress.
• Train staff in Positive Behavior Support principles and practice.
• Serve on Interdisciplinary Teams providing behavioral and mental health expertise.
• Provide 202B.040 evaluations and contribute to court testimony.
