Job summary

Applewood Centers, a premier behavioral health provider in Northeast Ohio, seeks a full-time Psychiatric Nurse for our residential program. You will collaborate with psychiatrists, APRNs, therapists and case managers to deliver compassionate care to children and adolescents with mental health needs.

As a registered nurse with psychiatric training, you will assess needs, educate families, manage medications, and coordinate services while leading daily activities as shift charge nurse.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio Nursing license (RN) required; BLS preferred.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; PMH nursing certification preferred.
• One year+ nursing experience in behavioral health or psychiatry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, APRNs, therapists and case managers to coordinate care.
• Engage with clients, caregivers and families as appropriate.
• Provide behavioral health education and management strategies.
• Assess clients for additional treatment needs and link to services.
• Monitor physical health factors including weight, nutrition, and meds side effects.
• Offer community resources and support.
• Provide departmental leadership as shift charge nurse.
• Meet with clients independently for triage and coordination.
