Job summary

Tower Behavioral Health in Reading, PA is seeking Registered Nurses for a 12-week temporary assignment with potential to convert to full-time. The temp schedule is a full-time day shift (7:00 am–7:30 pm) with three 12-hour shifts and alternating weekend rotations, paying $65 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must possess a current RN license as required by the state.
• One year of nursing experience; psychiatric/behavioral or substance use nursing a plus.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required.
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients' physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
• Provide nursing care within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined by regulations and policies.
• Ensure physicians' orders are legible and transcribed appropriately per policy and procedure.
• Assess patient status on an ongoing basis and document findings.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status and related challenges.
• Ensure initial nursing treatment plans are completed upon admission and are specific to assessed needs.
• Demonstrate knowledge and use of universal precautions in direct patient care.
• Accurately administer medications per ordered note.
• Document count of controlled substance administration on required documents.
• Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently and accurately.
• Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Provide direction or coordinate unit activities as directed.
• Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, co-workers and others.
