Job summary

Sheppard Pratt in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a Rehabilitation Specialist for our Psychiatric Rehabilitation Day Program. This full-time, on-site role runs 7am to 3pm Monday–Friday and involves one-on-one client support, medication safety, and collaborative care planning.

You will help clients learn or regain skills for independent living, provide transportation, attend medical appointments, and contribute to a safety-first, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Driver’s license with 3 points or less and access to an insured vehicle.
• Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Act as a residential counselor and work one-on-one with clients to learn or regain skills for independent living and socialization.
• Ensure medication compliance, including safety, dosage, and cleanliness.
• Collaborate with a service team to develop and implement individual service plans.
• Provide transportation and attend clients’ medical appointments; advocate and ensure follow-up instructions are followed.
