Job summary

The RN Manager at the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health's Summit Behavioral Healthcare unit oversees the overall nursing care delivered in an inpatient forensic psychiatric hospital in Cincinnati.

You will provide leadership to registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and therapeutic program staff; ensure a safe, therapeutic environment; and support individualized treatment plans while maintaining compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Must hold current registered nurse license in Ohio.
• 36 months’ experience in psychiatric nursing or delivery of nursing services to persons with developmental disabilities.
• Undergraduate core program in nursing; 18 months training or 18 months experience in supervision.
• 18 months training or experience in management.
• 12 months training or experience in counseling or public relations.

Responsibilities

• RN Manager is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and delivery of nursing care within an inpatient forensic psychiatric hospital.
• Oversee the daily operations of nursing services within the assigned inpatient forensic psychiatric unit.
• Provide leadership, supervision, and direction to the registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and therapeutic program workers within that unit.
• Establish clear expectations for professional conduct, accountability, and performance.
• Maintain a safe and secure therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
• Oversee the identification, assessment, and management of clinical and behavioral risks.
• Support the implementation of individualized treatment plans and behavioral interventions.
• Ensure nursing operations comply with federal and state regulations and hospital policies.
• Maintain readiness for regulatory inspections, audits and accreditation surveys.
• Monitor nursing documentation for accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical performance reviews.
