Job summary

Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities seeks an experienced RN to provide nursing care at the Columbus Developmental Center. You will manage physician orders, monitor resident health, and collaborate with physicians and the care team to ensure high-quality treatment.

The role requires Ohio RN licensure, ability to handle emergencies, and strong communication with families and staff. The position is full-time, based at the Columbus Developmental Center, with shift-based responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Current Ohio RN license.
• Experience in psychiatric/developmental disabilities settings preferred.
• Ability to communicate medical information to parents/guardians when appropriate.
• Schedule flexibility for various shifts and on-call requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assumes primary nursing responsibility for assigned residents, including nursing treatment planning and verification of physician orders.
• Enter physician orders into computerized records and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team.
• Monitor preventative health screenings and ensure quarterly physicals are completed.
• Assist in feeding, grooming and self-care; respond to medical emergencies and administer first aid as needed.
