Job summary

Center for Community Alternatives, Inc. seeks a counselor to provide substance use treatment services, assess client needs, and coordinate care with community resources. You will deliver group and individual sessions and maintain detailed case records compliant with OASAS standards.

The role involves intake interviews, treatment planning, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support clients through discharge and ongoing recovery.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering counseling in substance use treatment settings.
• Ability to coordinate care with community providers.
• Familiarity with OASAS-compliant case records.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake interviews and mental health screenings.
• Develop and review treatment plans and coordinate care.
• Provide individual counseling and referrals to resources.
• Maintain client records and data entry in EHR.
• Facilitate treatment groups and perform drug testing as needed.
• Prepare monthly updates for courts or supervising agencies.
• Participate in treatment team case reviews.
• Consult with professionals to support treatment.
• Complete discharge documentation.
