The counselor will conduct individual and group sessions, evaluate progress with the care team, and help develop treatment and discharge plans for long-term recovery. Qualifications

• Must possess an LCDC in the state of Texas.
• Previous experience with chemically dependent individuals preferred.
• Positive, non-judgmental attitude toward patients.
• Understanding of an EMR system.
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients through medically assisted treatments and opioid addiction techniques.
• Conduct individual and group sessions for crisis management and coping strategies.
• Evaluate patient progress and collaborate with doctors, nurses and counselors to achieve outcomes.
• Provide individual and group counseling; coordinate services during treatment.
• Establish and review initial treatment plans with each patient.
• Complete bio-psychosocial assessments and develop aftercare/discharge plans.
• Ensure delivery of counseling services in a trauma-informed manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
