Job summary
American Addiction Centers in Florida is seeking a licensed behavioral health counselor to provide individual, group and family therapy. This role requires conducting assessments, treatment planning, and coordinating care within a multidisciplinary team to support recovery and holistic well-being.
Ideal candidates hold a Masters in Behavioral Sciences, an independent license (LPC/LCSW/LMHC), and at least 3 years in behavioral health.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences (social work, counseling or psychology).
- Unrestricted independent license to practice in the state of employment (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, etc.).
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in behavioral healthcare.
- Experience with substance use, addictions, mental health, CBT and MI.
- Knowledge of electronic health record software and documentation.
- Knowledge of ASAM criteria.
- Counseling adults; understanding psychotropic meds and symptoms.
Responsibilities
- Provide intervention, assessments, treatment planning and counseling.
- Initiate and provide family counseling services.
- Provide clinical services to patients on caseload and assist as needed.
- Supervise assigned interns.
- Participate in weekly treatment team and staff meetings.
- Ensure documentation meets licensure and accreditation standards.
