Job summary

American Rheinmetall is seeking an Assembly Technician for prototype vehicle builds within the AR engineering team. You will assemble components and systems on prototype vehicles to meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations.

The role requires experience with heavy vehicle assemblies, reading blueprints and work instructions, and using hand and power tools. You will work under safety-driven protocols and contribute to improvements in design and assembly processes.

Qualifications

  • Diesel Engine Mechanic and/or Heavy Vehicle Assembly experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience in prototype component assembly and vehicle assembly.
  • Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, magnetic drills, grinders, etc.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, manuals, specifications sketches, job orders, planning documents and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to perform assembly tasks from design drawing and written or verbal work instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble AR's combat vehicle prototypes and systems with team collaboration.
  • Perform heavy assembly tasks on military vehicles including chassis, turret, weapon, armor, drive, and power pack systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, manuals, and engineering drawings to guide assembly.
  • Follow work instructions and design drawings to complete assembly tasks.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, magnetic drills, grinders etc. safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a proven safety record and adapt to changes during assembly tasks.
  • Provide input on design and assembly improvements to enhance reliability and quality.
