Our Prototype Center Assembly Technician will join the engineering team in Slidell, LA to assemble prototype vehicles and systems, meeting schedule, budget and quality targets. You will read blueprints, interpret drawings and work instructions, and perform heavy assembly of chassis, turret, weapon,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certifications such as ASEC Mechanic License, CDL, fork truck operation, crane operation preferred.
• Welding certification is a plus.
• Higher Education Degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble AR’s combat vehicle prototypes and systems with partners and teammates.
• Perform heavy assembly of major vehicle systems such as chassis, turret, weapon, armor, drive and power packs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, manuals, 3D models, specifications and job orders.
• Follow design drawings and written or verbal work instructions to perform assembly.
• Use hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, magnetic drills, grinders, etc.
• Maintain a proven safety record and adapt to changes/rework during assembly.
• Provide input on design and assembly improvements and work independently.
