Job summary

American Rheinmetall seeks a Prototype Center Assembly Technician to join the engineering team in Slidell, LA, performing vehicle assembly tasks on prototype vehicles and systems to meet schedule, budget and quality expectations. The role requires reading blueprints, using hand/power tools, and working with cross-functional partners to deliver robust prototypes.

Qualifications

• Diesel engine mechanic and/or heavy vehicle assembly experience required.
• 5+ years in prototype component assembly and vehicle assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, manuals, specs.
• Perform assembly from design drawings and written/verbal work instructions.
• Reading blueprints and engineering drawings; working with hand/power tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble prototype combat vehicle systems per drawings and plans.
• Read blueprints, specs, manuals to guide assembly work.
• Use hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, drills and grinders.
• Maintain safety, quality, and compliance during assembly.
• Collaborate with teammates to meet schedule and budget targets.
