Job summary

Amcor is seeking a student intern in Lawrence, KS to support our Product Development team. You will work under supervision to coordinate projects, interact with multidisciplinary teams, and help develop tooling, prototypes, and drawings for proprietary products.

This role emphasizes hands-on learning, safety, and exposure to real-world manufacturing challenges. Local candidates preferred for this on-site internship.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a student pursuing an Engineering degree, preferably at sophomore/junior/senior level.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work under supervision to assist in coordinating projects improving proprietary products or procuring custom business.
• Interact with multidisciplinary teams and lead production/development trials as needed.
• Acquire quotes from vendors on tooling or modifications.
• Assist in determining costs on custom and proprietary projects.
• Develop and update part drawings and tooling prints.
• Create models and prototypes of parts for customers.
• Assist tooling/PD engineers in prototype tooling design.
• Evaluate prototype parts and modify tooling as necessary.
• Assist in modifying production tooling to ensure parts function.
• Help develop QA testing programs for projects.
• Organize test data and prepare summaries, reports, and analyses.
• Maintain safety, environmental, and health requirements.
