Job summary

Vermeer is seeking a hands-on technician to support design, testing, and implementation of new solutions for production models and prototypes. You will work closely with engineering teams to develop, test, and bring new ideas to production.

The role emphasizes detailed diagnostics, documentation of test outcomes, and collaboration with Marketing, Service, and Sales to ensure customer-ready solutions. A strong safety mindset and willingness to travel occasionally are valued.

Qualifications

High School diploma required.
Associate degree in design technology or related field preferred.
Five years mechanical/technician experience preferred.
Knowledge of electrical/hydraulic standards.
Experience with diagnostics and data collection.
Ability to document test results clearly.

Responsibilities

Create prototype or new parts for existing machines.
Lead testing on various machines.
Lead machines through production implementation in Machine Shop, Welding, Paint and Assembly.
Assist Marketing, Service, and Sales as required.
Organize and inspect parts for Engineering.
Lead a safe work environment during prototyping.
Document and report test results and changes to machines.
Communicate ideas to improve Vermeer products.
