Job summary

Vermeer is seeking an Engineer Technician II - Electrical in Ames, IA. The role involves hands-on troubleshooting, prototyping, and guiding production integration across machine shop, welding, paint, and assembly. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, 5+ years in mechanical/technical roles, and knowledge of electrical/hydraulic standards. Travel occasionally may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associate/technical degree preferred in design tech or related field.
• Five years of mechanical/technician experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of electrical/hydraulic standards and safety.

Responsibilities

• Create prototype/new parts for existing machines.
• Lead testing on various machines and document results.
• Oversee production implementation in shop, welding, paint and assembly.
• Assist Marketing, Service, and Sales as needed.
• Organize and inspect parts for Engineering and ensure safety.
• Document test reports and project changes; track improvements.
• Communicate concepts for new ideas to improve Vermeer products.
• Maintain safe work environment during prototyping.
