Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is seeking a hands-on Product Design Technician for Hillsboro, OR to support product development, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing from design to production.

You will read blueprints, operate 3D printers, build prototypes, perform hand fabrication, and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to address design and manufacturability issues.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience reading blueprints, engineering drawings, or technical documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn 3D printing and prototyping equipment.
• Detail-oriented with ability to work in a high-tolerance environment.
• Experience with product testing, data collection, or lab instrumentation is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Operate 3D printers to produce prototypes, components, and design samples.
• Perform hand sewing and other hands-on fabrication techniques as needed for product development.
• Build, modify, and assemble prototypes and product samples.
• Support product design and development projects.
• Perform testing, inspections, and evaluations of products and processes.
• Troubleshoot product, equipment, and test setup issues.
• Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to address design and manufacturability issues.
• Assist with failure analysis and product evaluations.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, reports, procedures, and product information.
• Assist with improving product designs, processes, and procedures.
• Work independently on assigned projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Learn and work with new equipment, applications, tools, and manufacturing processes.
