Job summary

Enphase Energy, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Technician Temp in our Austin, TX facility for a 2-month on-site assignment. You will assemble prototype SST racks and enclosures and support engineering test setups under close supervision.

Requirements include 2+ years mechanical assembly experience, associate degree or technical certificate, and local to Austin; strong reading of drawings, tooling proficiency, and strict attention to torque specs and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have an associate degree or technical certificate in mechanical fields or equivalent military/trade training.
• At least 2 years of hands-on mechanical assembly, fabrication, or lab/prototype experience.
• Local to Austin, TX and able to report on-site daily for a 3-month duration.

Responsibilities

• Rack and skid assembly—assemble prototype racks, equipment skids, and enclosures from engineering drawings and mount components.
• Component mounting and hardware installation—drill, tap, fasten, and torque per drawings and specs.
• Sheet metal and structural fabrication support—cut, bend, deburr, fit panels and brackets.
• Heatsink and thermal system assembly—mount heatsinks, fans, ducts, and interfaces as specified.
• Busbar and conductor installation—install pre-fabricated busbars and grounding straps per drawings.
• Fit checks and prototype iteration—identify issues and apply fixes to keep builds on schedule.
• Receiving and inventory support—verify parts against packing lists and organize for assembly.
• Test fixture fabrication—build fixtures for vibration, thermal, and environmental tests.
• Documentation and as-built records—update logs, mark drawings, and record deviations.
• Safety and housekeeping—follow EHS procedures and maintain a clean lab/shop area.
