Job summary
Atlas Copco North America LLC in Auburn Hills seeks a Mechanical Engineer for the Advanced Concepts team to create concepts and prototypes for new products at the Auburn Hills Innovation Center. You will blend hands-on design with materials and process knowledge to develop prototypes and support dispensing technologies, automation systems, and customer applications.
You will work with engineering, project management and product teams, report to the Innovation Hub Manager, and travel occasionally
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in engineering or related field.
- Experience designing prototypes and performing testing in lab/shop.
- Ability to design experiments and analyze results.
- Experience with automation/manufacturing environments is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Create clean-sheet mechanical concepts for ideas from the Innovation Hub team.
- Create physical prototypes using internal and external fabrication resources.
- Provide engineering direction to external fabrication resources when required.
- Create and maintain technical and financial documentation for concept projects.
- Assemble, test and troubleshoot concept prototypes during initial build.
- Assist with design of experiments to evaluate prototypes.
