Job description

Overview

The Bike Shop department is seeking a Prototype Engineering Planner to manage developmental engineering hardware and collaborate with multi‑disciplined design teams across multiple projects. The role is onsite in Tucson, AZ, and requires a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze engineering drawings, documentation, and quality standards to develop manufacturing work methodologies, instructions, and illustrations.
  • Generate and document the "as‑built" configuration by capturing the bill of materials.
  • Ensure quality, cost, and schedule compliance for engineering hardware.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and performance.
  • Perform BOM analysis, procure components, and generate material status reports.
  • Request components from engineering stores and manage disposition of quality discrepancies and non‑conformances.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with complex processes and tools, inventory control, and material procurement databases.
  • Experience performing supplier quoting and interface activities to support procurement and supply chain functions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active U.S. Secret or higher security clearance.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and hierarchy definitions to develop accurate work instructions.
  • Strong collaboration skills in a multi‑disciplined environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Direct customer‑facing role experience.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: 86,800 USD – 165,200 USD.
