Job summary

Rivian seeks an Electronics Rework & Prototype Assembly Specialist to drive first-time prototype builds and perform rework on complex PCBAs and wire harnesses. You will bridge engineering and production, troubleshoot, and verify assembly quality against IPC standards.

The role supports NPI and documentation, with focus on precision electro-mechanical assemblies in challenging environments. Strong IPC/ESD knowledge and tool handling are required.

Qualifications

• College degree in Electronics with 2+ years of hands-on experience OR 5+ years of hands-on relevant experience.
• Active IPC Class 3 Solder Certification for Electronic Assembly.
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620C standards.

Responsibilities

• First-Time Prototype Build & PCBA Rework including hand-soldering and conformal coating per dispositions.
• Assemble and inspect PCBA quality to IPC standards; read BOMs for components.
• Build and integrate complex electrical wire harnesses per IPC/WHMA guidelines.
• Troubleshoot circuits with schematics; run functional and quality tests on PCAs.
• Use calipers and height gauges to verify build dimensions and tolerances; GD&T knowledge a plus.
• Support NPI and create SOPs and build routers for new products.
• Document results and rework details; maintain lab and equipment.
