Job summary

Adecco is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Setup Machinist to program, set up, and operate CNC vertical mills for prototype, custom, and small-batch production in Livermore, CA.

The ideal candidate reads blueprints, interprets tolerances and GD&T, selects tooling, and creates ISO programs with Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM software. Mastercam experience preferred; strong problem‑solving and independence are valued.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of CNC machining experience preferred.
• Experience with CNC setup and operation.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand machining processes.
• Knowledge of G-code, M-code, tool offsets, and work offsets.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC vertical mills.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T specifications.
• Select tooling, fixtures, workholding methods, speeds, and feeds.
• Create, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs using Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM software.
• Set tool offsets and work offsets (G54-G59).
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
• Troubleshoot machining, programming, tooling, and quality issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
